Taco Bell Just Dropped Zab’s Chicken Ranch Nacho Fries — Here’s What That Means
Taco Bell just partnered with Zab’s Hot Sauce — a Florida-based small-batch operation known for its Datil Pepper sauces — to build a new limited-time Nacho Fries variant that’s unlike anything they’ve done with the item before. Zab’s Chicken Ranch Nacho Fries hit the menu April 16.
What Makes These Different
Standard Nacho Fries get cheese sauce. This version gets something more layered: slow-roasted chicken, a Zab’s-style ranch that incorporates the Datil Pepper’s distinct “slow burn” heat profile, and the seasoned fries as the base. The Datil Pepper is native to St. Augustine, Florida — it’s fruity before it’s hot, which is what makes Zab’s sauces work differently than standard hot sauce collaborations. The heat builds, and it has a sweetness that cuts through the richness of the ranch.
The Price Point
Zab’s Chicken Ranch Nacho Fries are priced at $5.49, which puts them in line with Taco Bell’s other premium Nacho Fries runs. It’s a standalone item — not part of a combo by default, though you can build one at the register or on the app.
The Nacho Fries Permanent Play
Worth noting: Taco Bell announced earlier this year that Nacho Fries are officially going permanent on the menu later in 2026 — ending years of limited-time runs that kept them as a perpetual return event. These collab runs like the Zab’s version appear to be Taco Bell testing what elevated variants work before the item settles into a permanent spot.
