E!GHT Korean BBQ
E!GHT Korean BBQ is the definition of unique food. Famous for their 8 marinades of pork belly, the flavors include wine, original, garlic, curry, miso paste, herb, black sesame and red pepper paste. Our personal favorites are wine and herb! They’ve recently added a hot cheetos marinade and it’s a must try! Their second location in Buena Park, CA is just as good and serves the same menu. They recently opened a sister property located at the popular Westfield Santa Anita in Arcadia, CA. They very cleverly named the restaurant porkfolio! Next time you are in Ktown, Buena Park or the San Gabriel Valley, you must check out one of these 3 restaurants!
Gardena is a small community in the South Bay that has some true hidden gems and Shilla is one of them! Located on Western Ave, the spacious restaurant serves traditional Korean BBQ meats such Bulgogi, thick slices of pork belly, kimchi and a large array of banchan. What makes this restaurant unique? They have some really cool specials like the sweetheart special which includes a bottle of soju or wine! If you are headed to the South Bay, make sure to check it out!
Genwa Korean BBQ
Although a little on the pricier side, Genwa is the true “Beverly Hills” Korean BBQ experience! Their known for their high end meats such as American, Japanese and Australian Wagyu meats. Our personal favorite is Japanese Wagyu but we’ll take ANY type of Wagyu! They have various locations so check out their website!
OO-KOOK Korean BBQ
Another favorite with multiple locations, we specifically love the San Gabriel restaurant as the grills are larger which means MORE FOOD! Make sure to get there early as OO-KOOK often has a wait. You may ask what our favorite dishes here? The Filet Mignon cooked right in front of you is melt-in-your-mouth good!
Wharo Korean Charcoal Restaurant
Who knew the Westside has Korean BBQ? Well we did! Wharo Korean Charcoal Restaurant serves some of the best pancakes and soups we’ve had in a while! Located in Marina del Rey, this tiny restaurant is perfect for an intimate dining experience and you don’t have to tackle the traffic to KTown to enjoy this authentic experience!
Now this is very unique, AYCE Gogi not only is an All You Can Eat Korean BBQ restaurant but it also has a cool arcade in the back of the restaurant so you can bring your entire family to eat and play! Where is this super cool spot? In Van Nuys, so you folks living in the Valley, make sure to check this spot out. It’s a MUST visit!
