You’ve heard of people drinking coffee after a heavy night of pounding beers, but what if you could just cut to the chase and combine your coffee with your frothy brew?

OK, so it’s been scientifically proven that drinking coffee does nothing to cure your hangovers, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the bold flavor of some jo will you relax and crack open a cold one with the boys.

Something that Dunkin’ Donuts is hoping you’ll consider with its second coffee-beer release this year.

DDark Roasted Brew is the lovechild of the partnership between the popular doughnut franchise and the Wormtown Brewery in Worcester, Massachussetts. It only makes sense that Dunkin’ teamed up with the fellow Masshole business as DD’s New England roots run deep.

The stout beer is aptly set to release on the darkest day of the year at 11:28am, this December 21st at the Wormtown Brewery’s official taproom. The beer’s supposed to celebrate the Winter Solstice, hence the release date, and I can think of a few people who’ll be happy to slurp this bad boy down. Chief among them is Casey Affleck’s SNL Dunkin-Donuts guy.

You know he’ll be there with a crueller and a pack of Pall Malls.

Rob Branca, a local DD franchise owner who’s based out of Worcester himself, said that he’s excited to be working with Wormtown:

“We’re thrilled to partner with Wormtown to launch DDark Roasted Brew. Worcester is home to one of the first Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants so we know how much residents love the brand and our coffee. This partnership with Wormtown continues to drive innovation in Worcester and we are excited to brew up something extra bold to help our loyal guests to celebrate the darkest day of the year.”

Now if you follow Dunkin’ Donut-Beer news as closely as I do, you’ll recall that back on September 29th, National Coffee Day, Dunkin’ Donuts released its Dunkin’ Punkin Brown Ale thanks to a collaboration between the North-Carolina based Catawba Brewing Company.

Now you won’t be able to buy a pint of these at any Dunkin’ Donuts locations, so you’ll probably have to hit up local liquor stores or the breweries themselves to see if they’ve got any of these DD-flavored beers on deck.

And if you like you drinking your coffee and donuts, in between sips of the DDark Roast Brew, you could try this glazed Krispy Kreme donut flavored beer.
